*CRISCI WRECKS; SPINS; FINISHES 2ND*

On the day following Friday the 13th, terrible luck fell upon the Team Crisci Racing stable. What started off with the trailer lights malfunctioning, then the trailer coming unhitched and nearly rolling away on the motorway, led up to the least successful day of racing in our short history. After being on track during Senior Rookie first practice for only 2 laps, Crisci spun off of turn 2 and made hard contact with the wall. The kart then rolled down the track into the infield, luckily avoiding the other cars on track. The car backed into the wall, and then turned right up the track, scraping up the right front. The bumper ended up bent inward on the right rear side, and the clutch cover (which was welded onto the engine casing) flew onto the track as debris. Driver David Crisci was okay after the incident, suffering only minor bumps and bruises. TCR sat out the second practice while the kart was kindly being repaired at the JK Performance© Race Shop by track co-owner John Diotte. The seat also suffered a breakage, and is being prepared before this week's race by team mechanic Jerry Crisci.
TCR rebounded by coming out in the first heat and knocking off newcomer opponent in the #12 machine after her kart had a mechanical malfunction. Crisci took the second heat as well, passing the #12 on the third lap and never looking back. Then, in the feature, Crisci took the inside, but it was the #12 that had the advantage going into turn 1. It took Crisci 5 laps to catch the #12, but when he went to attempt the pass, he made slight contact with the rear bumper of the #12 and spun once again in turn 2. He made a roaring comeback, but needed just a few more laps to catch the #12, losing by a half-straightaway despite being nearly a lap down halfway through the race.
It was certainly a night that the team wishes to forget, but one that will always be remembered for the misfortune that it brought. Lap times are will be availiable on the lap times page by Wednesday, July 18th. All that can be done now is put the weekend behind us and move on to next week's race on Saturday, July 21st. We will be running in the Senior Rookie class once again and hope to see you there!
