***STRONG RUN IN PRELIM, HEAT FOR TCR AT DAYTONA***

The night cap for TCR's iRacing "Double" on Friday night ended with calamity, but it was a strong showing from the #6 truck. After finishing 2nd in the preliminary practice race on Thursday night at Daytona, there was hope for a strong run on Friday night for driver David Crisci in the Kickin' The Tires Lower Half Dash series race.

Crisci qualified 15th in the field that featured nearly 40 entries, and backed up the strong run in Thursday's practice by almost winning the first Heat race of the night and the pole for the feature race. Crisci drafted to the front with driver #21 Matt DiBenedetto early on in the 3-lap shootout, and snuck away to the lead after DiBenedetto spun on the last lap into the field. However, the lead was too large, as a small pack of 4 drivers lined up in a draft and passed Crisci in the final turn, with the #6 truck coming home in 5th-place at the line by 0.001 seconds.

Starting 10th in the feature, the #6 truck drove up to 2nd by the end of the first lap. A four-wide pass for the lead attempted ended up with Crisci in the grass after making contact with the #71 truck of Ryan Ellis. Since driving in the grass and advancing your position would result in a penalty, Crisci had to back off and give back any spots gained. Two laps later, after working back up to 3rd, the #6 truck was hooked in the right-rear bumper by the #86 entry of Brandon Brown, and got turned up the track into the field, collecting eventual-race-winner Chase Cabre, along with others.

TCR recovered to finish 10th in the first stage, but would get wrecked on the ensuing restart with 20 laps to go. After falling to 26th, Crisci had one final restart with 5 laps to go to try to recover back to the front. However, the wreck-filled final laps of the race were too much for the #6 truck to avoid, so the TCR entry coasted to a 31st-place result in the feature.

While the first three races of the Lower Half Dash have not been kind for TCR (Race 1: 8th -> blown engine, Race 2: 1st -> run out of gas, Race 3: 1st -> wrecked out), the intensity and competitiveness of the series has been second-to-none in the recent iRacing surge, and has proven to be some of the most fun and exciting racing going on! TCR is excited to get back on track on Friday night in the Kickin' The Tires Lower Half Dash , at a track and with a car combination to be determined soon!
