The 2015 racing season has come to a close for Team Crisci Racing. The team saw many great happenings this year, including a near win at the NEKOK race at Oakland Valley until a spin in the closing laps, and the first competition for their new home-built motor, built by Jerry Crisci and Dave Crisci with lots of help and advice from John Diotte, Jr. The team saw action at Lebanon Valley Speedway, another new track for TCR. With that race in the books, the team has now raced at all the tracks on the Northeast King of Karting Series circuit. While lots of racing was done this year, the season was hampered by many extreme circumstances, including a stretch of 4 straight weekends of racing cancelled. 2 OVS rain-outs, not enough karts for a class at Poughkeepsie, and cancellation due to extreme heat at Wall Stadium prevented the team from racing in the heart of its schedule.
The year wrapped up at Lebanon Valley Speedway for the NEKOK race. It was the first time for the team at the track in upstate NY, and it was a tough battle. The team fought handling issues all day due to bumps in the track, and when it came time for the feature the bumps became too hard to handle and the chain popped off, giving the team their only DNF of the season and first since 2013. The chain did a lot of damage unfortunately, bending the brake rotor and knocking the pad housing off of the rear of the car. The bumps also cracked the seat beyond repair, and thus the season was over for the team.
Although those circumstances prevented TCR from competing in OVS's crown jewel, Novemberfest, the team looks forward to next season where for the fifth year in a row, they will try to make their debut in the event. Also on tap for 2016, be on the lookout for a race at Wall Stadium in the Sunday Series later in the summer. In addition to those races, the team should be appearing at Oakland Valley Speedway on any other weekend of racing in April, July, and August, as well as the NEKOK event at OVS. Look for a full schedule to be released in early April, after the NEKOK and Oakland Valley Speedway race schedules are released. Until then, enjoy the offseason, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Team Crisci Racing!
