CONCORD, NC - The first WKA race for TCR in 8 seasons is complete. The journey to make the race at The Dirt Track at Charlotte was a rough road, and the team battled through lots of adversity. The first race running a clone motor, the first race on Maxxis tires, gearing changes, hung throttle, cracked fuel tank, clogged carburetor, and about anything you can imagine went wrong for the #25 bunch. But the team toughed it out and fought until the end to be able to run the feature race!
It was a learning experience to get to race against the top traveling kart teams in the nation, and to compete on the superspeedway that is The Dirt Track. The team did a great job getting the #25 machine dialed in and the handling of the kart was on point. Unfortunately, between the engine performance of a rebuilt motor compared to brand new motors for much of the field, and once the tire prep fell off in the feature race, the team didn't have enough to compete with the soaked tires of the field. All in all, it was a great experience for the team to be able to compete in such a big event, and the knowledge and experience gained was intangible.
