TCR TAKES 2nd IN GRAND NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, 1st IN FLATHEAD

Team Crisci Racing came home 2nd at the WKA Grand National Championships at Chapel Hill Raceway in Humphreys, NY. This was the first time the team competed in the National Championship, and finished second only to George Curtis, the 3-time champion. The effort by the entire team was outstanding, as early engine troubles did not hinder on-track performance, and the team was able to secure the Flathead championship.

In the Saturday night feature, driver David Crisci finished 3rd, winning the final payout of the purse. Sunday's race fared better for the team, with a 2nd place finish in the senior class. Throughout the Sunday events, oil continuously leaked from the motor, as a seal broke near one of the valves. However, the team compensated by adding extra oil before each run, and taking apart and cleaning the motor and shield between each heat and feature. The work was strenuous and came down to the wire each time, but the team got out onto the track for every event on the day besides the second of two practice sessions.

Overall, the trip was a fantastic learning experience. Spending a few days up in the peaceful and picturesque Allegheny mountains and the beautiful small town of Olean was a great bonding experience for the team. The introduction to asphalt racing was a great one, and hopefully TCR will get to participate again in the future!
